Stephan Ach's work reflects elements of surprise that he encounters in different settings: flexibility, softness, warmth, expressivity and the amazing landscapes of Latin America, where he has shot the majority of 'Oneself's series.

In a restless world, overwhelming amounts of information and images, this Biotope, —an oasis— is a contemplative and peaceful place. A place where nothing is specially planned, desired or expected; chaotic and self regulating; vague and exact. The myriad of greens, the kaleidoscopic reflection of leaves, the fine transparency, the richness in detail. Constant change in its purest and untouched for, magical in its process, resting for a short moment. An artificial Now! There is so much that delights me here, in this quiet, remote place, where I move gently, not to destroy the magic. My attention is not aimed at anything in particular, rather unintentional —like a child, observing their surroundings. As Bernard Shaw said: “You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.” —Undisturbed, —relaxed, —meditative, — with inner harmony, —unintentional effortless with myself. True moments of “Oneself” within this jungle.
