Linda Hodges Gallery presents its second solo exhibition of Seattle painter David Hytone. In THE ARMCHAIR LIBRETTIST, Hytone furthers his ongoing examination of identity and memory with a new body of work that finds him expanding on his signature approach of hand-painted collage. Exploring the friction between abstraction and representation, with nods to theater and still life, the work is derived from a combination of direct painting, glass-plate transfer and crude mono-print techniques presenting a series of loose, abstract narratives.
