The title of the exhibition, Mi piaceva come mi guardavi - (I liked the way you looked at me), refers to the name of one of the sculptures by Marco Cornini: a simple and powerful woman nude, the intimacy of a moment on a deep and strong red sofa.
Sculptures by Marco Cornini have as main subject the human being with their private world. Particularly, Mi piaceva come mi guardavi, is a clear and passionate introspective above the female and love world and all its shades.
They talk about a moment, a thought, a memory. The artist give us the chance to participate to a private second of his characters. People that is in balance between feelings and the everyday life.
Born in Milan on 17 May 1966, Marco Cornini graduated in sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 1988. After completing his artistic studies at the Accademia di Brera, his talent was soon discovered by Mario De Micheli who first took care of him by writing the text in the catalogue of his first solo exhibition held in Milan at the Galleria Ada Zunino, when he was twenty-two years old. Over the years he has exhibited in numerous personal exhibitions in private galleries and prestigious public spaces and his works have been included in many national and international collective exhibitions that have indicated him as one of the most recognized sculptors Figuratives of his generation. From 2001 he holds the chair of sculptural plastics disciplines at the L. Fontana di Arese art School. He lives and works in Milan.
