Lisa Harris Gallery is pleased to present solo exhibitions by two established Northwest artists during the month of November—Moving Through Autumn, oils by Bellingham artist Ed Kamuda, and New Paintings by Thomas Wood. A reception for the artists will take place First Thursday, November 5th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Moody, lush, and mysterious, Thomas Wood’s imagery tends toward the surreal and fantastic. His oil paintings capture the strange and sublime aspects of the Northwest wilderness. Preferring the rhythm and movement of a place, the essence of the experience, to a strict copying of nature, Wood seeks out the “elemental feeling” of pristine Northwest locales. The exhibition manifests Wood’s range of solidified styles—encompassing the visionary, the Romantic, and the abstract.
Included in numerous institutional and private collections nationwide, Thomas Wood is an established painter and award-winning printmaker who has exhibited nationally and internationally. A native of Richland, Washington, graduate of Fairhaven College of Western Washington University and Cornish alumnus, Wood has been represented by Lisa Harris Gallery since 1987.
