Chimaera is an hybrid monster of the Greek mythology: a bionic being composed of two or more genetically distinct tissues; a sort of post-human highly narcissistic individual formulated and artificially produced with great interest in cryonics research and in immortality.
Inspired by this mythical creature the works of Lidó Rico grouped under the nomenclature "Genoarquitecturas" are developed in collaboration with neurobiologists and neurophysiologists who deal with the study of the brain and the possible implications of it in various diseases.
These affections are reinterpreted sculpturally through the cartographic exhibition of the biological material that is molded and intervenes plastically.
During the production process, Lidó Rico, uses various techniques interacting with other elements that provide the public, explicitly, a message that will help them understand the concepts of brain functioning through our consciousness. Art establishes different layers of reading reality, catalysing a new interpretation of our existence.
From the rough folds of the amorphous mass stands a tiny figure that looks at the landscape where it sits: it seems to want to talk about its loneliness and precariousness; of the provisional of all events. Now, in the right hemisphere, where the holistic-emotional thought is lodged, we find embedded a nest of wasps, without hums, without presences ... Again the reference to the animal condition. As in that self-portrait with chicken eyes, disturbing, post-human ... a hybrid organism, a chimaera of contemporary mythology.
