“Oye como hablan”, they say that this can be one of the possible theories behind the name of this land. For none of the local people it’s a mystery, Yucatán is a world apart, it navigates with its own cadence, “It paints by itself”; and all that, somehow, it is a half truth.
Throughout this exhibition, the artists expose the diversity, complexity, and simplicity of their pictorial language, giving an account of the contemporary visual art production of the region, ¿Do we try to start a dialog or hold a conversation about us, our universes and interests?
Fifteen artists show us their personal universes through intimate and/or disturbing languages. From this first meeting, we can generate more questions, about our origins and approaches, to deepen the dialog, or enrich it.
Lux Perpetua Art Centre takes the first step in this exercise of communication, we want to know who they are, to listen to them.
Based on this experience, our intention is to extend the call for the professional creators who are producing in our entity.
We hope this project takes strength, intensity, and relevance; establishing a space of exhibition, talk, and projection that will strengthen and enrich the artistic scene of Yucatán.
