Palma, January 9, 2018 MA contemporary art is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the individual exhibition of the Mallorcan artist Andrés Planas. The explosion of color that invades us as we enter the space MA contemporary art, prepares us to start an inevitable path to the world "animist", that unknown and sometimes fearful mental space that sometimes certain images have the power to introduce us.
Once the eye is adapted to that new world that the artist knows how to create, we realize that this "animistic Pantheon" has been readjusted and configured at will. We are therefore facing a new figuration that transports us to those worlds we want to go to. We create the gods ourselves, as well as the demons. The artist acts as a transmitter, wisely uses all the beads and objects such as beads, shells and others that make this kind of totem, a new idol to adore. The majesty of its representation is so powerful that we can come to believe that we are facing new altars to which, why not, pray. Quite possibly, the pathetic situation in which the world finds itself, where the idols have turned out to be feet of clay, have led this artist to create a new imaginary; and for those who need it, there you have it. It will be an eternal "animistic Pantheon". The artist will be present at the event.
