Maior Gallery holds a significant role in promoting contemporary art. It represents both emerging and established artists and works with new means to create innovative ways to explore, interpret and display languages and artistic experiences. It collaborates with museums, institutions and foundations disseminating the work of its artists nationally and internationally.
From April 14th. to 17th. participates in Art Cologne 2016 artfair, in its 50th. Anniversary, located at booth 11.2 E-06, we present the work of one artist closely linked since the beginning of the gallery.
Susana Solano (Barcelona, 1946) one of the most internationally wellknown Spanish artists.
Her work has merited awards like the Special Prize of the Utsukushi-Ga-Hara Open Air Museum, in Tokyo (1985), the Spanish Ministry of Culture National Prize for the Plastic Arts (1988), the CEOE Prize for the Arts (1996), and the Tomas Francisco Prieto Prize (2011) awarded by the Real Casa de la Moneda of Spain.
She has participated in international events like Documenta VIII and IX in Kassel (1987 and 1992), the 19th Sao Paulo Biennial (1987), Skulptur Projekte in Münster (1987), the Venice Biennale (1988 and 1993) and the Carnegie International in Pittsburgh (1988).
