Mariane Ibrahim is pleased announce its participation at EXPO Chicago 2019, for the third consecutive year. The gallery will present important work from its program, highlighting newly represented artists including Amoako Boafo and Jerrell Gibbs, shown for the first time with revitalized portraits from daily life, both of which accentuate the figure and representation of the Black body. Clotilde Jiménez and ruby onyinyechi amanze reintroduce large format drawings; Jiménez exploring the limitations imposed on the body and amanze further defining her futuristic dreamscapes through a diptych. Lina Iris Viktor will illuminate the presentation, unveiling a unique piece from her Constellation series. The inventory will also include large scale works by Clay Apenouvon, Zohra Opoku and Sergio Lucena. Lastly, two new works by Florine Démosthène will be present, in anticipation of the artists first solo-exhibition at the gallery, opening on November 2, 2019.
