Staying Power

In May, 2018 Penelope Davis and MARS Director, Andy Dinan, are co-curating an exhibition showcasing selected works from established women artists. Women artists who have consistently made exceptional work over a long period of time, whose practice has continually developed conceptually, materially, and aesthetically but who may or may not have achieved the recognition afforded their male peers. Nevertheless, these artists have carved out sustained independent careers for themselves, consistently forging their own path.

Staying Power recognises the grit, determination, persistence and endless juggling that many women artists undertake over many decades, often without due recognition.
