Alongside greats Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, and Joan Miró, we also find renowned artist Roy Lichtenstein and his Imperfect 67" X 79 7/8", 1988. This piece represents the artist’s serious foray into total abstraction within the genre of Pop art, and gains its name from the several edges that upon a closer look protrude outside the rectangular boundaries of the work. It is this slight deviation which gives this work a playful quality in spite of its strict lines.
Damien Hirst’s Spin Spin Sugar (From in a Spin, the Action of the World on Things, Volume II), 2006 is one of 5 unique works which were hand painted with watercolor and crayon over a color etching. It captivates the viewer with vivid and candy-sweet colors. Miró’s characteristic aquatints with blocks of black are displayed alongside Chagall’s equally colorful lithographs, though both with different textures and saturation. Joining the aforementioned exquisite works and artists are the lithographs and linocuts of Pablo Picasso, along with a vast collection of Picasso Ceramics.
