To celebrate its first year in Singapore, Mazel Galerie presents Street2. A group show featuring new works from Mazel Galerie’s established and upcoming street artists. The show will run from September 6th to October 28th 2018.
Street art movement started as a way for anonymous artists to use the street as their voice. These artists enriched the art scene by developing new techniques. They worked with a variety of mediums such as paint, stencil and spray and produced artworks of incredible quality. This exhibition adds onto the educational exhibition led by the Singapore Art Science Museum, “Art from the Streets”, and showcases the vibrancy and quality of Street Art. Street Art is no longer confined to the street, and artists around the world, are now making it accessible to everyone’s homes. Kevin Troyano Cuturi, owner of the gallery adds: “Buying a painting from an artist whose works can be found in the street, is like buying a piece of history”.
Mazel Galerie will showcase a variety of street art styles from stencil artists ill, C215, and MONK, street-pop artist Laurina Paperina, muralist NOIR, and multi-media street artist Fidia Falaschetti. Each artist will have a message of their own to share with the audience. From MONK’s camouflage series, bringing awareness to endangered animals, to iLL’s stencil works showcasing some of today’s social contradictions, and C215 colorful animal portraits. The latter is one of the most predominant French street artists and Mazel Galerie is privileged to exhibit many of his works. C215’s reach goes far beyond France. His current Parisian show “Illustres” is a collaboration with the city of Paris, where he has represented portraits of key French personalities in the famous Paris Pantheon and surroundings. Mazel Galerie looks forward to bringing the magic of Street Art to our city, Singapore.
Street² exhibition will be ongoing from the 6th September to the 28th October 2018, at #02-14/17 Pacific Plaza, 9 Scotts Road, Singapore 228210. Admission is free.
