On January 10th at 6 pm at the ground floor of “Meno parkas” (Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas) will be held the opening of exhibition by young artist Neringa Križiūtė.
“At the Margins of Shadows”
According to the author, the idea and theme for the cycle of paintings “At the Margins of Shadows” were inspired by bright past memories, that are updated with current perceptions. “The experiences that are being lived now always has a connection with previous experiences. Therefore, the previous ones are perceived through the present prism of things we see, smell, feel.”
The young painter states, that the shadow in this context becomes a metaphor of a reminiscence that reflects the change, incompleteness, uncertainty and chaos.
Author analyses the issue of relation of reminiscence, perception and imagination and rises the question rhetorically: does imagination is capable to surrogate our perception? Does imagination hides the nature of reminiscences of reality, or reveals it?
Neringa Križiūtė (b. 1995) is artist of young generation, graduating this year from MA studies at Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA KF), Kaunas Faculty. Artist has BA diploma of architecture (VAA KF).
Exhibition is part of continuous gallery’s “Meno parkas” project “The Young. Green Consciousness”.
