Galería Mercado negro is a young space based on Cholula, Puebla, founded and directed
by Nora Adame and Alejandro Osorio that seeks to be a platform where young artists can
get visibility and an opportunity to sell their works.
Mercado Negro participates in Gallery Weekend for the first time with a collective
exhibition, a result of a curatorial exercise by artists Minerva Ayón and Marcelino Barsi.
This site specific show presents a series of pieces from both of them, as well as paintings
from Rafael Uriegas and Nacho Chincoya.
The exhibit explores different levels of signification, parting from the tension between
materiality and shape from both painting’s tradition and the poetics of objects.
