Statement

In search of a new visual language, Yuya Suzuki responds to the environment around him: minimalist amorphous shapes, semi-symmetric patterns and bright, blazing colours function like fragments or syllables of an unintelligible code. This is his first solo-show in Europe.

19 June - 5 August 2020 Migrant Bird Space Koppenplatz 5, 10115 Berlin In search of a new visual language, Japanese artist Yuya Suzuki (b. 1983, Fukushima) responds to the cityscapes around him: minimalist amorphous shapes, semi-symmetric patterns & bright, blazing colors function like syllables in an abstract, unintelligible language that could also be described as a codified text or musical pattern. Yuya is a current artist-in-residence at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. His "archegraph study_Berlin" will be his first solo-show in Europe.
