ICONIC MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHER, TO DEBUT AT MILK GALLERY

Magazine and Magnum Photos.
Milk Studios’ Milk Gallery will launch its highly anticipated exhibition, ALI –
PHOTOGRAPHS BY THOMAS HOEPKER, on Tuesday, April 1st with an
opening reception from 7PM-10PM. Thomas Hoepker will give an artist talk,
followed by a book signing, on Thursday October 3rd, 2013 at the Milk Gallery at
Included in the exhibition are some never before exhibited works, as well as a
launch of the book, THE CHAMP.
Celebrated Magnum photographer Thomas Hoepker spent 3 weeks in 1966
documenting the boxer Muhammad Ali, who had recently changed his name from
Cassius Clay. In a series of intimate photographs of one of the most intriguing
and iconic subjects in American popular culture, Hoepker reveals the spirit of a
champion. Hoepker continued to photograph Ali throughout his life.
