TO DEBUT AT MILK GALLERY

Milk Gallery will launch its highly anticipated exhibition ROADBOOK :
PHOTOGRAPHS BY HUNTER BARNES, with an opening reception on
October 6th, from 7PM-10PM.
Roadbook is an exhibition of black and white silver gelatin photographs made
and printed by documentary photographer Hunter Barnes. Spanning a ten year
period, the photographs document the people and aspects of American culture
and communities ignored by the mainstream and his artistic gaze focuses on the
faces of proud groups of people who are misrepresented in the modern American
Hunter Barnes’s photographs flash us into moments and scenes most people will
never get to experience first-hand during their lifetime. Barnes writes, “The road
has taught me what I know today. These are the stories I have waited to tell…for
years I’ve traveled with my cameras capturing moments of time with the people
the road has led to me.”
The exhibition will coincide with monograph of the same name, published by
Reel Art Press.
