Minnano gallery is pleased to announce the opening of "Paris", solo exhibition by Yoichiro Nishimura.
A series of photographs taken when Nishimura stayed in Paris last November will be exhibited this time. The Photographs are monochrome snapshot photos focusing on Paris scenes, events and people. These images are in contrast to the images of a closed room or a different spatial image ( photogram works in a darkroom or scangram works such as the "blue flower" series) which has been the center of Nishimura's photographs so far.
In the talk show held on October 13, Nishimura will explain how he thinks about snapshots with talking the episodes of when he was staying in Paris. He also plans to talk about stories in Hong Kong where he will be staying at the end of September at the talk show.
Born 1967 in Tokyo. Completed Photography course at Bigakko. Nishimura became a freelance photographer in 1990 after experiencing photography assistant. Exploring the media of camera-less photography, particularly photogram and scangram, he has been exhibiting photographic works using various motifs including plants, water, insects and nude.
