mm project art will delighted to present a solo exhibition by Kaoru Hirano, titled Flag, running from November 2 to November 23, 2024. Hirano, known for her intricate installations in which she unravels objects like second-hand clothing and umbrellas down to individual threads and reconstructs them. She has been living in Akiota, Hiroshima Prefecture, since 2017 after returning from Germany. This exhibition will showcase works from her Flag series, where she uses Japan’s national flag, the "Hinomaru," as the core material. By physically transforming the flag, the pieces explore …
