This project began with the discovery of beautiful Shigaraki Translucent Clay, inspiring a collaboration. During Katherine's visit to Japan, she requested to visit Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park, sparking the idea. The artworks were created with the cooperation of people from both Japan and the U.S., using meaningful materials: soil from the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, sand and shells from Fukushima (affected by the Tohoku earthquake), and soil from Ground Zero in New York, collected by a local artist.
