In Fallen Angels, Monty Guy explores his personal fallen heroes, portrayed alongside twice life size portraits of the #27Club. Guy's portraits expose the vulnerable nature of celebrity, the pressure of substances, and the innocence and brevity of these forever children—funereally
Modern Eden Gallery is excited to present the gallery debut solo exhibition by San Francisco artist, Monty Guy. With this new body of work, Fallen Angels, the artist expands upon an ongoing series of paintings that depict famous artists, writers, and musicians as tattooed children. These whimsical images evoke an innocent spirit and sense of wonder. The artist explains, “this series aims to honor the fallen angels, and explore guardian angels that have had influence in carving my vision of what it means to be an artist.”
