Salt Lake City, UT – June 16, 2017 – July 15, 2017 – Modern West Fine Art will premier Submerged Reflection by J. Vehar-Evanoff for June gallery stroll. A self-taught artist painting for more than twenty years, Vehar-Evanoff’s diverse oeuvre ranges from oil on canvas and panel to metal work. Submerged Reflection is an abstracted series of landscapes that foreground the texture and weight of the land by making visible his intricate process of layering and removing paint with varying sizes of squeegees. The opening reception will be during June Gallery Stroll on Friday, June 16 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and will be on display through July 15, 2017.

About J. Vehar-Evanoff:
A self-taught artist, John Vehar has been painting for more than 20 years-pushing genres, mixing mediums, and proving that the only constant is change. The result is an expansive, informed portfolio that ranges from the figurative, abstracts, realist oils, and even large metal work. Before turning back to the world of fine art, John was a successful graphic designer for more than 15 years. Born in the windy town of Rawlings, Wyoming, John now resides here in Salt Lake City.
