DOUGLAS KIRKLAND: BEYOND THE LENS will feature a collection of iconic images captured throughout Kirkland’s career and for the first time ever, his latest project, ALPHABET, an epic adventure of the human alphabet.
DOUGLAS KIRKLAND: BEYOND THE LENS will feature a compilation of the most prominent images captured throughout Kirkland’s 50-year history as one of the most sought-after photographers in the world. These include shots from his collection of books including, “Light Years”, “Icons”, “Legends”, “Body Stories”, “An Evening with Marilyn”, the best-selling “James Cameron’s Titanic”, “Freeze Frame” and “Coco Chanel, Three Weeks” and Kirkland’s 2013 monograph, “"A Life in Pictures.” Also represented will be images shot on the most famous television and movie sets of our time, including “The Sound of Music,” “The Judy Garland Show,” “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid,” to name a few. Kirkland has worked with nearly every iconic star one can imagine from John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Dean Martin and Audrey Hepburn to Jack Nicholson, Nicole Kidman, Coco Chanel, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy, and Cher, among many more. The list is nearly endless.
Also on exhibition for the first time ever will be Kirkland’s latest project, ALPHABET, an epic adventure of the human alphabet. The concept was spawned by his wife and business partner, Francoise Kirkland.
