Cathy Daley makes drawings, paintings sculptures and collages that draw on art history and popular culture to create a contemporary vision of female sexuality, beauty and power. Blurring the distinctions between object and subject, concrete and abstract, real and imaginary, Daley’s work examines how identity, gender and sense of self are informed by the ways women are represented in art and popular culture.
Born in 1955, Toronto, Ontario, Cathy Daley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ontario College of Art in 1975. …
