All works for Terrazas’ third exhibition with Nils Stærk belong to the series of works started in 70’ties: Possibilities of a Structure, but can be divided into three subseries: Cosmos, Nine Circles and Diagonals. Each of the three series denotes a certain structure, which is repeated in each work, but also continuously modified through different use of colours, size and materials. Terrazas describes the relationship between the individual works, the subseries and Possibility of a Structure as a whole like the relationship between man and the cosmos: always one and always another.
The works in the exhibition are either acrylic on canvas or produced using the ancient image-making technique of the Huichol people. Here yarn is fixated onto a wax-covered wooden board. Seen together the two different techniques highlight each other’s different tactility and engage in a perpetual game of difference and similarity.
All works in the exhibition express an interest in the most basic components of imagery: line, colour, surface and materiality.
