CURRENT EXHIBITION CONTEMPORARY EXPRESSIONS AND RECENT SCULPTURES BY JORGE BLANCO Aug. 28, 2015
To launch the new season, O. Ascanio Gallery will host two exhibitions, Contemporary Expressions, and Recent Sculptures by Jorge Blanco, starting with an opening reception on Thursday, September 3rd at 7pm in our location in Wynwood: 2600 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137. The two exhibitions will run from September 3rd through October 3rd.
Contemporary Expressions is a group exhibition to showcase recent work by artists from Latin America, Europe and the United States. The presentation includes several of Hester’s abstract photographs from her latest series, Traces of Perception, and Carlos Cabeza’s rhythmic paintings in his prototypical and intense neon palette. Also on display will be a number of hanging sculptures by Colombian artist Alexandra Andrade. Her systems of heavyweight textiles and thread are painted with gold leaf and primary colors red, blue and green. Accompanying these, moreover, is a single large-format in black, red, and white by Nanin, as well as two pristine white monochromes from 1987 by Francisco Salazar.
Meanwhile, smaller gallery room will host Recent Sculptures by Jorge Blanco, a solo exhibition. With the arrival of sculptures such as Marathon and Red Rollers, which will be shown for the very first time in a gallery, Blanco collectors will witness evolution in Blanco's sculptural compositions, and yet perseverance in his technical process and thematic exploration.
Please join us during the two exhibitions.
