Alice Teichert, elemental

"elemental" is a celebration of new luminous paintings by multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert. In her shimmering abstract canvases, Teichert merges motion and stillness, calligraphic texture and burnished layers of translucent acrylic.

Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert is known for bold colours and layered transparencies interspersed with script like line drawings. Teichert studied music, philosophy, visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the MacLaren Art Centre, Global Affairs Canada, the Musée de la Ville de Valence, France.

Over the course of creating these paintings, a visual notation slowly unfolds into its own form of resonance like ripples of language dancing in space, water and time. ~ Alice Teichert
