Paramo would like to present for Maco Foto new work by Guadalajara based artists Adrián S. Bará (1989) and Emanuel Tovar (1974) with the Argentinian based collaborative Faivovich & Goldberg [Guillermo Faivovich (1977) and Nicolás Goldberg (1978)]. Through photography and video, the stand will address concerns of ownership, location, nationalism, and identity within the greater context of civilization.
Faivovich and Goldberg will exhibit work from “Guía de Campo del Cielo” an ongoing project they began in 2006. This project investigates the cultural impact of the meteorite from Campo del Cielo in El Chaco, Argentina. The artists reconstruct a unique narrative through exhaustive visual, oral and archival research. Exhibitions developed from the project have been shown at Documenta 13, Portikus and the Merz Foundation, Italy.
Adrian S. Bará, whose work is generated through the appropriation of visual elements and materials taken from his immediate environment, will present a new video. Bará was included in exhibitions at the Museo de Arte Raul Anguiano (MURA) and the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ). Bará was cinematographer for the film “The Solitude of Memory” that will be included in the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. The film also won in the Salmedance Film Festival.
Emanuel Tovar will exhibit new photographs that explore the conflict and vulnerability of the human condition. Tovar is interested in utilizing architecture, design, music, literature, and fine art in a social context as a means of constructing a cohesive dialogue. The artist had a solo exhibition at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ) in 2011 and will have a solo exhibition at Museo de Arte Carillo Gil next year.
