Cody Hoyt: Fossil Record

Please join us for an exhibition of new ceramics from Brooklyn-based artist, Cody Hoyt.

Utilizing the method of inlaid clay patterning, the surfaces of Hoyt's ceramics reveal how the walls of each form have been sliced and opened up, uncovering the system of pattern inside, whether geometric or incidental like strata.

Inspired by the growth and mutation of his ceramic works, Fossil Record explores how these new pieces have evolved within a traceable framework over the last few years. One can identify elements of the process and materials by examining different pieces made at different times in some of his largest scale works to date.
