Patrick Parrish Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new works by Marcus Tremonto. Using materials like aluminum and copper foil, acrylic, paper pulp and hand-built electrical components, the show underscores regular motifs in the artist's work—abandoned cities, nocturnal landscapes, found objects, and emphasis on light as a medium. Mon Monde is an eerie, beautiful panorama of nighttime imagery realized through a series of illuminated sculptures, paintings and wall murals.
Marcus Tremonto founded his New York-based design studio, Treluce Studios, with wife and partner Monica Tremonto in 2002. The studio is a collaborative that focuses on product-driven concepts, based on recontextualizing, repurposing, and reimaging traditional designs with new design philosophies. The studio was awarded the Future Furniture Interior Design award in 2006, and has been published in over seventy worldwide publications, including The New York Times, Case da Abitare, Domus, Connaisance des Arts, Etapes, and Blueprint. Tremonto holds a Masters in Fine Art from The Art Institute of Chicago.
