For Sydney Contemporary 2019, PAULNACHE intends to change gear, confounding and no doubt delighting the collector base with the exciting new talent of MFA Graduate Oliver King. King’s work is contemporary, conceptual and slick, very different from previous Art Fair presentations. His practice positions the 'new cool', new media artist with versatile and seductive works, high end production made affordable through production of editions. This is not first time that PAULNACHE has launched a completely fresh talent at an Art Fair.
PAULNACHE offers less a consumable list or stable of artists than a family or community of artist/collaborators who like King, come together and work with Nache to each extend their own practice, but also contribute to the greater whole which is the unrelenting forward momentum of this Gallery. SC19 will further extend the perception of the PAULNACHE 'Whanau' as edgy, fluid, multidiscipline New Zealand artists able to succeed on the world stage.
