Down the path light, attracted by the sun, RENK follows his researches, using always only his spray paint cans.
“Colors have been used as cartridges of dynamites to explode the light”.
These words by the great Derain, back at the very beginning of the 20th century, were not only shapes of the Fauvism but are a mission from the famous french painter toward all who seek impressionism ambition.
Born in France in 1987, RENK shares with those illustrious ancestors the will to release the color. Raised through the graffiti code, RENK uses his tags, his letters to fulfill his art, without denying his origin.
His tag technics thought in studio in parallel as in street action but not in reproduction. Tagging it thousand of times in order to reproduce the color emotion, the sensation of the sun at special moment. “Sunrised” is the result of RENK nowadays’dream in October 2018 in Los Angeles with the same passion as the dream they had in Collioure during the 1905 summer.
