PIPPIN CONTEMPORARY TRAVELS TO NEW YORK CITY FOR AFFORDABLE ART FAIR THIS SPRING
Santa Fe, NM (January 18, 2018): Pippin Contemporary kicks off its summer exhibition season early this year as the gallery travels to New York for the Affordable Art Fair NYC in March. This will be the first New York City exhibition for Aleta Pippin’s gallery, which began its art fair participation locally with Art Santa Fe last July, sponsored by Redwood Media Group. Pippin has since traveled to San Diego, Miami and soon Las Vegas for subsequent fairs and looks forward to engaging with a range of first time buyers and seasoned collectors in New York. The Affordable Art Fair NYC will take place from March 21 – 25 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, New York City. Pippin Contemporary will occupy stand 2.12 on the second level of the pavilion.
The Affordable Art Fair aims to provide a laid-back atmosphere that makes contemporary art accessible to all caliber of collectors. They host fairs worldwide in Europe and Asia with New York as the only American location. The March event will mark the 24th year for Affordable Art Fair NYC with 67 local, national and international exhibitors. Over 400 contemporary artists will be represented at the fair, including Pippin Contemporary’s Bassmi, Cody Hooper, Suzanne Wallace Mears, Nic Noblique, John Charbonneau and Aleta Pippin. Their work will be exposed to the over 12,000 visitors who typically visit Affordable Art Fair NYC. According to the fair’s website, 1 in 4 of those visitors make a purchase and gallery owners have been quoted in saying it’s the most successful fair in terms of sales that they attend. Pippin Contemporary was drawn to the fair for its credible reputation, extensive marketing efforts and exciting New York location.
Pippin Contemporary is simultaneously planning its following exhibition season in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where it occupies one of the largest contemporary galleries on Canyon Road. While she owns a prime location to reach Santa Fe tourists, Pippin is also committed to widening the reputation of her artists as well as that of the gallery on an international level through art fair participation.
