Member of Magnum Photos since 1986, Steve McCurry was born in 1950 in Philadelphia and lives in New York. He studied at the Pennsylvania State University College of Art and Architecture before working as a photographer for a newspaper. After two years, he made the rst of many trips to India. With little more than a bag of clothes and lm, he crossed the subcontinent and explored the country with his camera.
