Iris Helena bring us her research about urban images through singular photographs in unusual materials. It is a Solo Program show especially curated by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas. Please, be very welcome and feast your eyes!
The work of Iris Helena (João Pessoa, Brazil) is characterized by critical and poetic investigation of th eurban landscape through the use of objects removed from their original context, through which she works several artistic languages, like photography and installation. In the Solo project of Portas Vilaseca Galeria, Iris Helena presents an excerpt of her artistic production between 2009 and 2016, which includes photos printed in unusual means, such as: post-its, toilet paper, metallic packaging for pills, eroded wall fragments, among others. With this, the artist has re-dimensioned her photographic records that involve architectural details, like squares, avenues, buildings, ruins or monuments in her singular photo-installations and other works.
