Christoffer Munch Andersen is NOT a hyperrealist.
Christoffer USES the hyperrealist technique to develop a minimalist language in a pop key.
In front of one of Chris's work, you don’t react as in front of a hyperrealist’s work. you immediately realize that his incredible painting technique is just a means to transport you to his world, which is that of everyone but he alters and exasperates the dimension of common objects by changing completely their concept. (for instance, a blue plastic shopping basket becomes a big blue shaped monochrome canvas)
He is not a slave to painting, he is not a slave to the subject, but as few artists he is able to combine the taste for the great Painting, that for conceptual art and great monochrome classics, always under a rigid control, that reveals itself in fully enjoyable but incredibly layered art.
