Eve Sussman’s acclaimed video installation 89 Seconds at Alcázar was exhibited at Rice Gallery winter of 2005 following the premiere at the 2004 Whitney Biennial. It is a lavish and evocative re-creation of the scene portrayed in Las Meninas by Diego Velásquez.
