Richard Saltoun Gallery presents a booth dedicated to the work of British artist Helen CHADWICK (b. 1953 - d. 1996) for Frieze London's new 'Social Work' section, showcasing female artists who have challenged the status quo.
Work by Helen Chadwick, one of the most influential female artists in British art history, will be presented as part of Frieze London's new 'Social Work' section, dedicated to showcasing the work of women artists who have challenged the status quo. On show will be one of Chadwick's most provocative works, In the Kitchen (1977/2018), a series of prints that depict the artist dressed in costumes designed as kitchen appliances. Now considered seminal in the history of Feminist art, the work confronts and satirises the stereotype of women as domestic goddesses.
