Hervé Van der Straeten presents a selection of chandeliers, mirrors and furniture displayed along with artworks by artists represented by Robilant+Voena, including Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Andy Warhol and Nicolas Poussin.
As this is the artist’s first exhibition in Italy, it represents an opportunity for Hervé Van der Straeten to introduce to the Milanese public a collection of works, defined by a perfect mastery of forms which he has created in his ateliers. The works convey a harmony echoing both different epochs and materials. The graphic creations of the designer are sublimated by the artworks of the great Masters, whose chiaroscuro contrasts with the contemporary lines conceived by Hervé Van der Straeten.
For this solo-show the designer has also included 4 new creations made for the EMERGENCE collection which are accompanied by a selection of 26 other pieces. There are 30 pieces in total, which reflect the extensive research on movement and materials.
The ORIGAMI console, made with blue anodized aluminium, the extremities of the couch EXPOSURE made with fossilised wood and bronze, as well as the REACTION mirror in lacquered wood and gold leaf, will all be on show from 11th April to 31st May 2016 in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile week in Milan.
