White Cube Jungle

Jofroi Amaral from Belgium, Toshihiko Mitsuya from Japan (in cooperation with Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge and Sam Chermayeff), and Alexander Skorobogatov from Russia–three very different figures in art who transform SEXAUER's exhibition hall into a jungle. In very different ways they will fill the exhibition cube with plants and an artificial nature. With botanical sculptures made from iron, aluminium, pigments and also „real“ plants. What unifies the positions that phenomenologically differ so much from each other is their particular investigation of human perception as well as their very personal reference to myths. In other words, their occupation with the grand narratives of man's self-reassurance. Together, they will turn the exhibition hall into the WHITE CUBE JUNGLE.
