SIM Galeria presents the exhibit Desenho, as an invitation to the aesthetic revaluation of the two-dimensional technique. The comma after “desenho” (drawing) indicates how multifaceted this artistic practice is, being able to create three-dimensional and synesthetic concepts, and obtaining volume and texture. There will be pieces of the six artists mentioned above that make use of drawing as a political resistance tool while facing a collapsing world.
Desenho, presents the technique not as a first step, but as something monumental as it is. The opportunity of understanding the mind of these artists and how their creative expressions take shape then rises. The dialogue between these pieces creates an aesthetic conjunction, exploring drawing as a mirage, a representation of what is not there or is yet to come, a political act, and a facet of the creative mind.
