In addition to our gallery booth, our artists Harmonia Rosales and Aldis Hodge will be unveiling the first two works in the collaborative series, "Through the Looking Glass" in a special feature booth (# 525).
Los Angeles, CA - Dec 16, 2017 - Simard Bilodeau Contemporary is pleased to present works by: Bauçan, Larry Lewis, Val, Marie-Laure Vareilles aka Maïlo, Harmonia Rosales, Yalda Sepahpour, Juan Carlos Muñoz Hernandez, and Carrie Pearce at LA Art Show 2018 which will take place at the LA Convention Center, South Hall, from January 10-14.
The gallery will also unveil Adeela and Baingana, the first two paintings in a collaborative series of works by Harmonia Rosales and Aldis Hodge titled Through the Looking Glass. These large-scale paintings were birthed from the notion of introspective cultural perception. They encourage the viewer to ask themselves a series of questions regarding the dichotomy between negative and positive reactions when presented with imagery of foreign cultures. Their ultimate motivation is to lead viewers to a more accepting and merciful perspective. Rosales and Hodge will host a moderated Q&A on Saturday, January 13 at 5:00 PM to foster dialogue and start a conversation in pursuit of their goal. They will also be present at their special featured booth on Sunday, January 14 at 1:00 PM for a conversation with attendees.
