Simões de Assis shows fifteen works by the Brazilian artist Rodrigo Andrade, from 2016 through 2019. Andrade is permeated by historical references of painting and material experimentation. With special focus on painting, the artist also works with drawing, engraving. In the 1980s, he joined the group Casa 7 and, influenced by German Abstractionism, his large-format works moved pendularly between figuration and abstraction.
