Color Contained

I have photographed alongside the New Jersey Turnpike for many years but recently decided to focus on the shipping containers near Elizabeth and Harrison.
I am drawn to their geometric blocks of color. I seek places where these symbols of industry are juxtaposed against marshland, open skies and diesel trains, or stacked like a mosaic. To me this creates an interesting, layered composition. And, when I have the right light, these mundane industrial scenes become beautiful.
