Soluna Fine Art emphasizes the idea of essential meaning and tradition of Asian art and crafts, connecting Asian contemporary artworks and objects with art collectors and galleries on an international level. Soluna Fine Art curates artworks through new and traditional forms of exhibitions, educational programs, and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
Puerta Roja, the only gallery in Asia specializing in Latin American and Spanish art is presenting for the first time at Art Central, bamboo sculptures by Laurent Martin “Lo”. Although from a Western perspective, “Lo”s artistic practice has developed around Eastern philosophical and spiritual beliefs he has encountered during his travels across Asia. Most recently the artist spent several months in Taiwan where he learned new techniques from bamboo masters, imparted lessons to emerging artists and exhibited at the museum exhibition, Bamboo Traces: Contemporary International Bamboo Art and Craft Exhibition, at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
To continue the spirit of cross-cultural collaborations, Puerta Roja is teaming up with Soluna Fine Art, featuring three Korean artists in the highlight piece “Floating Tea House” installation. Ceramics artist Kanghyo Lee, furniture artist Jihoon Ha, and textile artist Geum-seong Kang(VIIN) are all masters of their craft who advance traditional practices with contemporary interpretations.
