The first exhibition was at the Riverside Gallery in New Jersey, then Powerhouse Arena located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. After that, the third group exhibition was held at the Flushing Town Hall, followed by the Hutchins Gallery at the LIU Post. Last year, The Drawing Room members gathered at the Nabi Museum of the Arts in Teaneck, NJ. While in the fall of 2016, The Drawing Room will be having their 6th exhibition called ‘Syncretized’ at the Space 776, located in the Brooklyn’s prime art venue Bushwick. Participating artists are Jin Cho, Dong Kyu Kim, Sueim Koo, and Stephanie S. Lee.
In this exhibition, they are gathered under the title of ‘Syncretized’. The theme represents that four very different artists with strong unique voices get together with one - art - like ink harmoniously dissolving into water. We invite people to enjoy the various perspectives of each artist with unique voices. The Drawing Room’s exhibition focuses on enjoying each other’s art based on companionship. In this broad and busy New York life, it’s not easy to have a friend who can exchange ideas freely and criticize each other’s work without jealousy or prejudice. The drawing room members count on each other and moving forward in this chaotic art world. All members are from diverse professions and walks of life; however, they strive to promote its members’ visibility to the larger art audiences, and are bonded by one thing—art. ‘Regenerating positive energy through art form’ as The Drawing Room’s motto, we hope the audience can get live energy through our exhibition. This all started from seeking passion and fun in art; we all hope it ends just as it started.
