Sprüth Magers’ presentation at Photo London encompasses a series of trajectories in photography that chart its history in the second half of the twentieth century, and that have become core to the gallery’s identity. Spanning work from a history of German photographic practices, from Bernd and Hilla Becher to Andreas Gursky and Thomas Ruff, to works by American proponents Stephen Shore, Kenneth Anger, Philip Lorca diCorcia and later Ryan Trecartin, the display will investigate and present different models of image making throughout this period and how the medium continues to innovate and change.
