Steve Turner is pleased to present Private Residence, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based Ann Hirsch. The artist will present three large-scale drawings, each of which reimagines a nude from the art historical canon originally intended, not for public display, but rather, for more prurient use in a private residence. The works sourced—Titian’s Venus of Urbino (1538), Goya’s La Maja Desnuda (1797-1800), and Ingres’ Grande Odalisque (1814)—are, in Hirsch’s updated versions, titled using diminutive versions of the artists’ names: Tish, Francis, and Jean.
