Formerly active graffiti writers, the brothers have created a unique style which incorporates graffiti, hip-hop, skateboarding and other elements which shaped their youth in the 80s and 90s; creating a world of bold shapes and animal characters (often in sunglasses, because why not?).
The protagonists of their work embody codes and attitudes of city life, which are in contrast to the natural purity of the animal and nature motifs. This tension drawn from the ambivalence between urbanity and nature gives rise to a whole Low Bros universe.
The artist duo is fuelled by the complex interaction between the 2 and 3 dimentional, a synergy of flowing organic shapes and cubic effects, along with expressive colour grids and multifaceted patterns that bring their work to life.
There is an infectious positivity to the brothers work. It reminds the viewer of youth and summertime; after school cartoons and skateboard aesthetics, while the geometric shapes and graphic colours bring it firmly into the modern, cutting edge of urban contemporary art.
Having previously exhibited in several group exhibitions (LAX/LHR, Reasons for the Seasons) we are excited to see Low Bros invade StolenSpace with this new body of work.
