Through the use of sculpture, video, and installations, Tracey Snelling has given her own, personal impression of a place, the people who inhabit it, and her experiences. Often the photographic image inserted into her work is distinguished from the real life undertaken within the buildings to create at times a sense of mystery. The artist’s work, which draws inspiration from voyeurism and film noir, aims at generating a sense of curiosity: who lives there? What are the people doing inside the building?
